Curtis Clark took the minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opens: - None. ------------- Review of ARs: - Walter to send out BIRD211.2_draft10 with the previous meeting's changes. - Done. -------------------------- Call for patent disclosure: - None. ------------------------- Review of Meeting Minutes: Arpad asked for any comments or corrections to the minutes of the June 1st meeting. Randy moved to approve the minutes. Walter seconded the motion. There were no objections. ------------- New Discussion: BIRD211.2 draft 10: Arpad noted that he had sent a private email to Walter with some editorial and clarification changes to draft 10. Walter said he had taken Arpad's version (draft 10 with Arpad's comments) and created draft 11. The group reviewed and modified draft 11 to address questions/suggestions from Arpad, Fangyi and Bob including: - In the Repeater flow known issues (first page): - Issue #2 - add language to clarify which Tx and Rx don't get the cumulative upstream impulse response. - In the subsequent paragraphs, clarify the language with respect to singular "new redriver flow" vs. plural "additional flows". - Note: The intent had been to refer to the "new redriver flow" (singular) as the flow that replaces the existing Redriver Init flow. The "additional flows" referred to the new flows supported by the Tx_Impulse_Input Reserved Parameter (e.g., the flow when the value of the parameter is "Separate", which supports optical channel simulations). - Walter added language to explicitly state that the new corrected flow replaces the original statistical Redriver flow. This language is in the "Definition of the Issue" section, not text that will go into the specification. - In the 4 Redriver Flow diagrams shown for the various settings of Tx2's Tx_Impulse_Input: - On the fourth flow diagram ("Upstream" case), correct the fact that the Tx1's input is shown as the unit impulse response. This would be true if Tx1's value of Tx_Impulse_Input were "Upstream", but Fangyi pointed out that this section is focused on Redriver flows and specifically the Tx2's value of Tx_Impulse_Input. - In the single-channel Reference Flow section: - Clarify language related to the concept of the "initialization flow" followed either by statistical analysis or the "time domain flow" or both. - Walter added language explicitly stating that the EDA tool cannot do a time domain flow without first completing the initialization flow. - Added language saying that all models must have Init_Returns_Impulse set to True in order to complete the statistical analysis. - Change the BIRD's title to "IBIS AMI Reference Flow Improvements" - Logistical changes: - e.g., add "Above Number_of_Rows" to specify where in section 10.2.3 some new text is added. - Background Information/History - In the BIRD211.1 section, remove some "instead of..." clauses in the flow descriptions for "Downstream", etc. These clauses compared new flows to other flows and were seen as slightly confusing and unnecessary. - On page 4 of draft 10, the second full paragraph, the sentence: "..., then the normal non-repeater flow is unchanged..." Fangyi asked, "unchanged with respect to what?". Arpad noted that at the previous Friday's IBIS Open Forum meeting there had been another motion to vote on this BIRD at the next Open Forum meeting. Randy and Arpad said that the deadline for submission would be Friday, June 11, if we want to vote on it at the next Open Forum meeting. Bob and Walter agreed to meet, review additional comments from Bob, and attempt to complete a draft for submission by Friday. - Curtis: Motion to adjourn. - Randy: Second. - Arpad: Thank you all for joining. AR: Walter to send out BIRD211.2_draft11 with today's changes. AR: Walter to send out additional draft(s) after review of Bob's comments. ------------- Next meeting: 15 June 2021 12:00pm PT ------------- IBIS Interconnect SPICE Wish List: 1) Simulator directives
